Hotlum-Wintun - Mt. Shasta, CA 14,162 ft My friend, John, and I summitted Shasta yesterday (July 17th, 2005), via the Hotlum-Wintun route on the east side of the peak. We camped at 10,200ft on Saturday night, ascending almost 4000 feet to the summit yesterday, and then were able to ski from the summit down to about 7600 feet for 6500 feet of skiing! In mid July!
